Membership Terms & Conditions
At The Wise Wolf Library, the goal is to offer a welcoming space for reading, thoughtful conversation, and (for eligible members) borrowing and co-working. These Terms & Conditions exist to keep the experience fair, respectful, and consistent for everyone who uses the library. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern membership and use of The Wise Wolf Library (“Library”) and any current or future locations operated by Wolffkraft. By registering for a membership or using the Library, you (“Member”, “you”) agree to these Terms.
Operator: Wolffkraft Design Studio OPC Private Limited (“Wolffkraft”, “we”, “us”)
1) Membership plans
We currently offer three membership tiers:
A) Reader
Read in the Library within the Studio during open hours
No borrowing
No laptop use / no work calls in the Library
No hosting meetings
B) Scholar
Read in the Library within the Studio during open hours
Membership in the Wise Wolf Reading Club (as announced)
Borrowing privileges (see Section 6)
Unlimited Nespresso coffee (in-studio) (see Section 7)
No laptop use / no work calls in the Library
No hosting meetings
C) Resident
Read in the Library within the Studio during open hours
Wise Wolf Reading Club access (as announced)
Borrowing privileges (see Section 6)
Unlimited Nespresso coffee (in-studio) (see Section 7)
Laptop use permitted (work from the Library)
Hosting meetings permitted (see Section 5)
Membership benefits are available only while your membership is active and in good standing.
2) Studio hours and access
Open hours: Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Closed: Public holidays (and any additional closures we communicate)
Access is first-come-first-serve and subject to capacity, operations, private bookings, events, maintenance, or safety needs. We may introduce booking systems later if required.
3) Reading-only vs working in the Library
To maintain the Library’s atmosphere:
Reader + Scholar: Laptop use is not permitted. Work calls are not permitted.
All members: Phone calls must be taken outside the Library space.
Noise must remain low at all times.
We may impose reasonable time limits during peak periods to ensure fair access.
4) Conduct and house rules
Members must:
Keep volume low and respect the shared space
Follow any onsite signage and staff instructions
Treat books and property with care
Maintain cleanliness (dispose waste properly)
Zero tolerance: Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or unsafe behaviour will result in suspension/termination.
Not permitted: Smoking, vaping, alcohol, or any illegal activity within the Library/Studio premises.
5) Meetings (Resident only)
Residents may host meetings under these conditions:
Meetings are allowed only in designated areas as indicated by Wolffkraft.
Total attendees are capped at 6 people including the Resident member.
Guests are allowed for limited time for meeting purposes only.
Guest visits must be informed 1 day in advance during working hours, with visitor details (name and contact information, and any additional details we request for access control).
Wolffkraft may restrict or stop meetings if they disrupt the Library environment or operations.
6) Borrowing policy (Scholar + Resident)
6.1 Borrowing rules
Borrowing is available only to Scholar and Resident members in good standing.
A Member may borrow one book at a time.
Each issued book may be kept for up to 4 weeks from the issue date.
If you return a book earlier than 4 weeks, you may issue another book and a new 4-week period starts from that issue date.
Reference books and any items marked “Reference Only” cannot be borrowed.
6.2 Borrowing security deposit
A refundable borrowing deposit of ₹2,000 is required at the time of your first borrow.
The deposit may be held and carried forward for future borrowing.
You may request a refund of the deposit when you no longer wish to borrow, after all books are returned and any dues are cleared.
Wolffkraft may adjust/refuse deposit refund until outstanding dues (late fees, damage/loss charges) are settled.
6.3 Late fees
Late fee after the 4-week period: ₹200 per day until the book is returned.
6.4 Lost, stolen, or damaged books
You are responsible for books issued to you until they are returned and checked in. If a book is lost, stolen, not returned, or returned damaged beyond normal wear:
You agree to pay the MRP of the book, plus
additional charges based on sourcing/procurement (including shipping or import costs where applicable).
Wolffkraft’s assessment of condition and sourcing costs will be final.
7) Coffee (Scholar + Resident)
Nespresso coffee is available in-studio during open hours, subject to availability.
We may apply fair-use limits if required to ensure availability for all members.
If you bring guests for meetings, guest coffee may be limited based on availability.
8) Wise Wolf Reading Club
Reading Club access is included for Scholar and Resident members.
Some sessions may be ticketed or limited-capacity depending on the event format.
Non-members are not allowed unless explicitly stated for a specific event.
9) Payments, renewals, upgrades
Monthly memberships require manual renewal (no auto-renewal).
Yearly memberships are paid upfront and require repurchase at the end of the term.
No refunds are provided for memberships (including in cases of partial usage, non-attendance, or early termination).
If you violate these Terms and we terminate your membership, no refund applies.
Upgrades only: You may upgrade your plan by paying the applicable difference as per current membership pricing. Downgrades are not supported mid-term.
10) Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your membership (without refund) if you:
Violate these Terms or staff instructions
Cause repeated disruption
Damage property/books or refuse to settle dues
Engage in harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behaviour
We may also refuse entry to protect capacity, safety, and the experience of other members.
11) Personal belongings and liability
Wolffkraft does not provide lockers. You are responsible for your belongings at all times.
To the extent permitted by law, Wolffkraft is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal items on the premises.
You use the Library/Studio at your own risk and must follow safety guidance from staff.
12) Data and communication
To manage membership and borrowing, we may collect: name, phone number, email address, residential address and ID proof.
We may send updates via WhatsApp and email (subject to your consent where required).
A separate Privacy Policy may be published/updated from time to time. Where applicable, you agree that we may contact you for membership operations and service-related updates.
13) Changes to services and terms
We may update the Library rules, benefits, or these Terms to reflect operational needs (including capacity, safety, or event formats). Updates will be posted on the website and/or shared with members. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
14) Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, will have jurisdiction.
